Caring for Your Tiles

Tiles

Your tiles are made to be gathered around for years to come — a little care will keep them beautiful for every game night ahead.

  • Skip the shuffle. We do not recommend using shuffling cards or other shuffling accessories, as this can cause scratching and chipping — especially on the dark backs, which show wear more visibly than a lighter finish. Instead, gently mix tiles by hand or turn them face down with care.

  • Keep them dry. Wipe tiles with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth after use. Avoid soaking, submerging, or cleaning with harsh chemicals.

  • Mind the temperature. Extreme heat or cold (like a hot car or a cold garage) can cause warping or cracking over time. Store your set at room temperature.

  • Wipe up spills right away. Tea, wine, and snacks are part of the fun — but liquids left to sit can seep into engravings or discolor the surface.

  • Store them properly. Keep tiles in their box or pouch when not in use, away from direct sunlight, which can fade colors over time.

  • Handle engraved details gently. Avoid scrubbing painted or engraved numbers and characters with abrasive materials — a soft cloth is all you need.

  • Be mindful of the dark backs. The rich, dark finish on the reverse side is part of what gives these tiles their signature look — but it also means scratches are more visible than they would be on a lighter tile. Handle tiles gently and avoid dragging them across hard or textured surfaces.

A Note on Natural Variation

Because each set is handcrafted, slight variations in color, veining, or texture are part of the charm — not a flaw. No two tables ever look quite the same, and we love that.
